ENLIGHTENING

YOUNG MINDS IN

SOUTH CAROLINA'S COMMUNITIES

The Opportunity Project South Carolina seeks to provide a voice to the voiceless and access to opportunity by opening doors in the areas of health, technology, higher education, and civic engagement.

Whether it be income inequality, or the lack of access to affordable health care, or the digital divide that still plagues rural South Carolinians, we have to be far more intentional about how we go about closing those gaps and creating opportunity for the South Carolinians that need it most. The Opportunity Project is designed to close those gaps

HEALTH

The health disparities that plague South Carolina and our nation are vast. We’ll be supporting groups across South Carolina that are finding ways to expand access to affordable healthcare to South Carolinians that need it most.

EDUCATION

Minimally adequate has been the standard for too long for South Carolina public schools.  We can do better, and our students and families deserve better. The Opportunity Project will work to support the organizations and people who support our schools, our families, and our students.

TECHNOLOGY

A part of moving our children past away from “minimally adequate” is ensuring that they’re technologically savvy.  For our students in rural districts, it’s particularly important that we work with corporate technology partners and other key stakeholders in giving our students, and our schools, and our community organizations the technological tools they need to ensure that we are preparing our children for school and a modern workforce.

CIVIC ENGAGEMENT

Moving South Carolina forward will require that we be far more intentional about expanding our electorate and creating the political environment where the issues the Opportunity Project seeks to fix are more of a priority for our elected officials
